Sarah Kate Venison is a licensed marriage and family therapist in New York, Connecticut and Maryland with over 15 years of experience in community agencies, private practice, mental health advocacy and prevention.
She holds a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy and certifications in EMDR, Yoga, Kripalu Yoga in Schools, and the Relational Life Couples/Family Model. As a Nationally Approved Supervisor through the AAMFT, she is passionate about helping clinicians enter the field and grow throughout their careers.
Years in not-for-profit and community-based agencies strengthened her systems approach — seeing each person as a whole, within the context of their lives and relationships.
No single method fits everyone. Kate draws on structural and contextual family therapy, play therapy, trauma models such as EMDR, and mind-body practices to help each client find lasting ways to navigate life's stressors. Her couples work, rooted in Relational Life Therapy, is intensive and teaches practical skills that become a blueprint for healthy relationships.
Raised in a blended family, and now a parent and step-parent to six, she brings a deep personal understanding of the complexities of modern families.
